Saturday July 5

Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m. there will be a Men's Coffee.  It will be in the banquet room on campus. A light breakfast will also be served.  Hopefully the men will enjoy this time of fellowship together.  Please let Jamie know if you are planning on being in attendance.

As of right now the rest of the day is pretty open, but I'm sure something will be planned and we can all enjoy being together and having fun.

The evening meal will be served at 5:00 p.m. in the banquet room.

Following the meal will be the worship service at 7:00 in the auditorium.  Brother Keith Avaritt will be speaking on "Serving Outside the Church".

Be sure and contact Jamie for meal and dorm reservations soon!  jamie2-newhart@sbcglobal.net

Friday 4th of July

Friday is going to be a busy but fun day.  The morning will start out with a Sunrise singing service at 7:00 a.m.  There is an outdoor amphitheater located within the RSU Nature trails.  This is where the singing service will take place.  What better way to start out the day than singing praises to God in the great outdoors?!!

Then the rest of the activities for the day will take place at the Northeast Technology Center.  At 10:00 a.m. will be the Kids' Carnival.  Sister Jennifer Dorse is planning this-so it is sure to be fun!

At noon a BBQ lunch with all the trimmings will be served there at the Technology Center.

At 3:00 p.m. we will be hosting "The Sing On".  This is an opportunity for those who wish to blend their voices in song publicly.  Our aim is to have groups of 2 or more work on 3-4 songs that could be congregational, or non-congregational a cappella songs. This will not be an "open-mic" event.  We request that groups get together, rehearse, and spend time fine-tuning their songs before they get to the meeting if possible.  We are excited about this event for those participating, and those who just want to enjoy good Christian music.  Pick some inspiring songs, warm-up your vocal "chords", and get your Sing-on!  If you are interested in being in a group, but can't put one together, let us know, and we'll try to find others in the same situation.  Please contact Richard Newhart at rjnewhart@sbcglobal.net or 918-633-0728 for any questions.

Later that evening for those wanting to watch fireworks we recommend heading out to Claremore Lake.  They put on a great display every year and I'm sure there will be a group that could caravan out there together!

Don't forget the deadline for ordering t-shirts is May 1st.  Be sure and contact Jamie Newhart at jamie2-newhart@sbglobal.net for dorm and meal reservations.  If you have any questions at all feel free to contact me (Becky Scott)  at runningirl@att.net or 918-342-5077.

Thursday July, 3

Thursday will be an exciting day for the adventurous ones in the group!  RSU offers a ropes course called the Hillcat Challenge.  The Hillcat Challenge is recommended to anyone over the age of 12.  It is designed to build confidence and teamwork among participants using a combination of games, obstacle courses and problem solving activities.  The degree to which each person participates is the individuals choice, based on what the person can comfortably and willingly risk.  No one is required, forced, or coerced to perform any activity.  Those choosing to participate in the Hillcat Challenge will do low elements in the morning and move on to the high elements in the afternoon.  Some of the elements include a zip line, platforms, logs, games, climbing wall and other activities.  To view the website please visit http://www.rsu.edu/hilltopchallenge

It is important to note that all participants under the age of 18 must have a waiver signed by the parent or guardian.

The fee for the Hillcat Challenge is $30 for the full day course and $20 for the half day.  The full day consists of low and high elements and the half day consists of only low elements.  There is a minimum of 10 people required for the ropes course to be available to us.  Please contact Julie Hays at jhchays@yahoo.com to sign up.  We would like to begin the ropes course at 8:00 a.m. due to the heat.  Those not wanting to participate are welcome to watch the brave and daring ones!!

Dinner will be served in the banquet room at 5:00.

The worship service will be in the auditorium at 7:00 with Brother Charles Baxter speaking on "Elders/Leaders as Servants".

As a reminder the deadline for ordering t-shirts is May 1.  Contact Jamie Newhart at jamie2-newhart@sbcglobal.net

We have had some questions about bringing small children to the Ladies' Tea.  The tea and desserts will be served on china and the mansion is decorated with delicate antiques so please use your discretion.
